Hurricane Katrina Storm Surge - Beau Rivage - Biloxi
The Mississippi Gulf Coast suffered an almost tsunami like storm surge. In Hancock County it was around 40 feet. In Biloxi, somewhere between 20 to 30 feet. This guy that filmed the video from the third floor parking garage at the Beau Rivage stopped filming before the really bad surge started coming in. It seems he became just a bit frightened. This is the from the first couple of hours. My beautiful coast was pounded by this storm surge for around 5 hours and like I said, the video taken from this vantage was not the height of Hurricane Katrina. I have provided a picture of the Beau Rivage taken during happier times so you can gain a perspective of just what the Mississippi Gulf Coast faced. Biloxi is a peninsula and was almost completely swamped by the storm surge of Hurricane Katrina. There is a second video but the location is not given and it shows dramatically the storm surge that ordinary homeowners had to face. The people who took the videos and the people pictured in them are all safe and very lucky!!

DUE TO OVERWHELMING TRAFFIC WE WERE KICKED OFF OUR SERVER AND HAVE BEEN FORCED TO REVERT BACK TO OUR INITIAL SITE. Please be patient as we will be upgrading to a new server ASAP!.
That is the name of the website! Also, you may receive an exceeded bandwidth notice at this site, but try again so you can see just how devastating a storm we faced. There are pictures of the devastation after Hurricane Katrina on the main page. What is so remarkable about the cars is that they are on Cat Island which is 12 miles from the mainland!! Also, we at work are still arguing about where the one picture of the tall building is from! We don't know!! And that's what is so awful about the destruction. Landmarks and familiar places are gone and even if you lived here all your life, in some places, you can't tell where you are!
