PA Whines Again

Get out the violins. Have some wine and cheese to go with the following whine by the PA. The PA leaders are upset because Israel will not broker with them until terrorist acts stop. I mean who can blame Israel. There has been a supposed truce since February. Since this "truce", there have been numerous Kassam attacks, multiple suicide bombers trying to get into Israel, and Israeli citizens being murdered on roads. Sharon does need to take a hard line.

If we make more gestures and he [Abbas] does nothing, that will portray weakness," Sharon spokesman Ra'anan Gissin said. "This is what we can do under the present conditions." He also pointed to Israel's willingness to allow 26,000 Gazan workers into the country, to examine relaxing border crossings and beginning work on the seaport in Gaza.

"The Israelis were not serious," PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei told a press conference. "It was a difficult meeting and it did not live up to our expectations. Overall, what was presented to us was not convincing or satisfying to us at all. In all the basic issues for which we were expecting positive responses, there were none."
Qurei, flanked by summit participants Civil Affairs Minister Muhammad Dahlan and chief negotiator Saeb Erekat, told a news conference that no progress had been made on major issues such as the release of prisoners and settlement activity in the West Bank.

Israeli aides, however, described the meeting as "candid," but one said "this meeting was not intended to be a success, because terror does not permit there to be advancement right now."

The PA are the ones who are not being serious. They cannot expect concession after concession while acts of terror are planned and while terrorists remain free. The PA should be concerned with taming the chaos that exists in Gaza and disarming all of the unholy warriors.
