A New Tool
There is a new tool to counter anti-Semitism/Zionism. It is called Engage and is based in London. It was started as a response to the AUT boycott of two Israeli universities.
Engage challenges left and liberalanit-Semitismm in the labour movement, in our universities and in public life more generally. Antisemitism here, manifests itself mainly as anti-Zionism.
We are a resource for the monitoring and the critique of left and liberal antisemitism.
The website has two streams. One, the forum, is fast and responsive, with up to date news and opinion. This stream will also be a resource for co-ordinating campaigns. (This is the 'blog' that will be familiar to people who know our old website)
Check it out. More voices are needed to counter the rampant anti-Semitism that is becoming more prevalent even though it is being disguised as anti-Zionism.

Thanks for this, Seawitch. Will definitely check it out!
I get e-mail from them almost every day.
OT - SeaWitch - so glad to see you back on the air and broadcasting strong again.
Also OT - I can't imagine John Kerry being president, and as much as I admire GWB in some ways, he also is guilty of applying the Israel Double Standard, and it diminishes him greatly. Why? Well, remember his incredibly moving speech at the UN after 9-11? Either with us or against us? Warning all regimes who offer safe haven to terrorists? My heart soared when he spoke those words, and I believed him.
Now we see the sad reality of his relative spinelessness towards the Palestinian Authority's desire to have HAMAS run in elections. Even as they kidnap and slaughter, Al Qaeda-style, an Israeli Jew, and make the 'blindfolded victim video' and release it to the media.
Do you think a 'political party' would be allowed to run, no less exist, in the USA if they kidnapped ordinary citizens and made a media spectacle of their murders??????
Why is Bush and Condi still funding the PA??????
If that's not a double-standard, please tell me what is.
Li'l Mamzer
li'l mazer,
Glad to see you!! I am dismayed at what has been coming out of the State Department lately in regards to Israel. It is a double standard that is being applied and is wrong for our security as well as Israel's. I was a staunch supporter of the idea of Condi Rice being our next president but no more.
I have not been able to focus on anything but the aftermath of Katrina for the past month. I will be doing more posts on Katrina but will do more of my old "stuff" as well.
