Contrasts

When someone from Islamic Jihad, Fatah, or Hamas committs an act of terror against Israel, they are treated as heroes and idelaized idealized. A case in point, Wafa Idris, the first female homicide bomber, has know now had a popular folklore class named after her at the Gaza Center for Culture and Arts. All this because in one senseless act she killed herself and a 81 year old man. The Union of Palestinian Women has made her a role model!!

Now contrast this:

In what police are calling a possible incident of Jewish terrorism, three people were shot and killed on bus number 165 traveling from Haifa to the Druse neighborhood of Shfaram Thursday evening, after a resident of the West Bank settlement of Tapuah, dressed in a Border Police uniform, opened fire inside the bus.

The dead were two adolescent girls and the driver of the bus. The shooter also directed his fire outside the bus, and the casualties included people outside the bus.

Residents of the Druse neighborhood of Shfaram, where the bus came to a stop after the shooting, reportedly stormed the bus in order to neutralize the shooterJP
.

The police hadtried to protect him Eden Tzuberi from the crowds!!and failed. What are the chances of this man being idealized and made into a role model?

UPDATE:
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon issued the following statement:
"This was a reprehensible act by a bloodthirsty Jewish terrorist who sought to attack innocent Israeli citizens. This terrorist event was a deliberate attempt to harm the fabric of relations among all Israeli citizens. Terrorism by civilians against civilians is the most dangerous thing affecting the future of the State of Israel and its stability as a democracy.

"I send condolences to the families of those who were murdered and my best wishes for a quick recovery to those who were wounded.

"The entire State of Israel, regardless of race, religion or sex, strongly condemns this act of terrorism. The government is determined to protect the lives of Israel's citizens, from all ethnic communities and sectors; I have instructed the security services to accord the highest priority to investigating this terrorist attack.

"At this difficult hour for the State of Israel, I call on all public leaders in Israel - Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Druse - to work together in an effort to maintain the internal fabric of relations and to act responsibly and with restraint, and to allow the legal authorities to finish their investigation of this awful terrorist attack.JP"

I can understand the eye-for-eye desire for revenge or just getting even. BUT, it was an act of terrorism committed by a member of Kahane Chai, a terror organization, albeit Jewish.

The charge made by an enraged witness - "If this attack had occurred in a Jewish neighborhood and the attacker was Arab, he would have been killed immediately." - is patently absurd. If Israel killed every Arab attacker immediatley, the Israeli prisons wouldn't be full of living Arab attackers. We see the arrests on video so frequently that one would have to be a liberal to believe such hogwash.
